Totting Up
This is where a driver incurs 12 or more penalty points on their driving licence.
The offence causing the 'totting up' will have to be heard at a Magistrates Court and the driver is facing a mandatory 6 months minimum driving disqualification unless Exceptional Hardship can be proved.
Exceptional Hardship is argument put to the Court to persuade the Magistrates to exercise their discretion not to ban drivers with 12 or more points.
