Careless Driving, Driving without Due Care and Attention

Where a driver’s standard of driving falls below the standard of the reasonable and prudent driver the police will issue a summons for the charge of Careless Driving.

If convicted you will face either 3 – 9 penalty points and a fine of up to £5000, or a disqualification and fine.
